Blog Tour: Everything Between Us by Mila Ferrera

-----------------------
My Review
Everything Between Us is a great NA book that’s so entertaining, but has great substance as well. I was completely engrossed in the story, often finding myself drawn back to it when I wasn’t reading and I got really invested in what happened with Daniel and Stella. Their obstacles were kind of crazy, but they made everything that much more interesting. With so much NA emerging now, it’s easy to fall into repetition, but I think Mila Ferrera has found that sweet spot of believable and original.

As a self-diagnosed borderline agoraphobe, I loved that aspect of the book. While my agoraphobia tends to strike when I move or visit somewhere new and I just KNOW that if I walk out my door I will die, Stella’s is much more intense. She’s left school and is trapped in her parents giant house with a panicky fear of leaving the house. Her parents aren’t helpful in her situation – actually, her mother is just a nightmare in general. So her bad attitude is totally understandable, and her bitterness at the beginning makes it all the better when she starts to let the sweeter part of herself show later on.

Oddly enough, this was the second book I’d read in a row where the main girl suffers from panic attacks and is overly worried about being seen as weak, so this aspect was both awesome and odd to me. It was a little hard not to compare the two situations; however I think it’s really great that Stella wants to work through her issues and to do it for herself and not because she met a guy. I also think it’s good that she recognizes when she’s using him as a crutch and when she’s just happy he’s around. However, some of the moments where Daniel is trying to help her and she refuses were just so frustrating, because it is okay to ask for help sometimes.

I loved Stella’s part of the story, but to be honest, I’m lukewarm about Daniel. He’s great as far as book boys go, and he’s interesting. His past would be hard for me to get past, if he was in my life, but it doesn’t seem to bother Stella much so maybe it’s not a big deal. I just had a little trouble completely connecting with hjm to the full extent that I usually like to when it comes to book boys. I think part of that is the way that he and Stella seem to be perfect only for one another that gets to be a little isolating. But still he’s pretty dynamic with Stella and he does some really sweet things for her.

This is the first book I’ve read from Mila, and I’m going to have to go back and read her other books. I really enjoy her writing and I think she has a talent for NA and storytelling.

About the Book

Everything Between Us by Mila Ferrera
Publication date: November 5th 2013
Genres: New Adult, Romance

Synopsis:
Daniel’s got everything figured out. He makes a good living as an artist … mostly through offering “private shows” to the wives of local wealthy businessmen. He never stops playing the game and never lets anyone touch his heart. But when his current fling offers him a few hundred an hour for art lessons for her reclusive, college-dropout daughter, Daniel finds himself forgetting his own rules. The girl is rude. Insulting. Incredible.

And she sees straight through him.

Stella is hiding from the world, not because she wants to, but because crippling panic attacks await her every time she tries to live a normal life. She’s determined to push everyone–including her handsome new art teacher—away. But Daniel makes it utterly impossible. The guy is irritating. Mocking. Magnetic.

And makes her want things she knows she can never have.

What starts as a battle of wills turns into passion, where giving in means facing the things that scare them most.
