If you guys haven't had a chance to start the Immortal Circus books, I highly recommend you start now. I mean, how can you pass up faerie politics, a grand circus and so many secrets and twists? But I'll let Alex walk you through some of the highlights of this awesome series.
----------------Guest Post----------------
Thanks so much for hosting me.
I thought I'd do something a
little different for this post—rather than chat, I wanted to share my top 5
quotes/moments from the Immortal Circus series. I loved so much of the banter
and scenes in this series, it was hard to pick just five. (Especially because I
can't find all of them offhand.) I'm even going to be nice and give you a
little teaser from the last book.
So, without further ado, a small
selection of my favorites. I'd love to hear yours!
Sabina looks perfect, poised,
holding a pose for the audience's applause. Except Sabina's red unitard is
usually white, and the long gash across her throat is a second smile leaking
its secrets into the ring.
--- “I'm not the killer,” I say. At
least, I don't think I am. “I almost saw them, last night.”“Well, if it's any consolation, I
don't think you're the killer either.”(...)“Why not?” I ask.“Because,” he says. His comforting
smile turns wicked. “You're too much of a wimp to kill anyone.”
As it is, I can only stare
straight ahead and watch the fields roll by. Behind me, at the front of the
cart, I hear the steady clop of what I assume are horses. I feel like I've been
roofied at a Renaissance faire.
---
I don’t want to be the girl that’s
with the guy because without him she’s nothing. I want to be the girl who’s
with the guy because she’s powerful and he’s powerful and they’re powerful
together
“The Broken King is marching,”
Lilith intones, echoing the very words she said a month ago. “And he will have
his revenge.” Then she picks up her usual singsong voice and does a little
dance. I can't tell if it's the demon toying with me or the little girl just
being a little girl.“You think the end will come with
me. But no, the end will come with three.” Before I can ask her what the hell
she's talking about, she twirls around and skips off.

----------------About A. R. Kahler----------------
Alex is many things, but first and foremost,
he’s a Sagittarius.
Born in Iowa and educated across the States,
he’s
taught circus in Amsterdam and Madrid, gotten madly lost in the Scottish
wilderness, received his Masters in Creative Writing from Glasgow University,
and drummed with Norse shamans. Sometimes he also walks about on stilts. Or
sews. Or hammers tiny pieces of metal into pretty shapes.
When he’s not writing or
climbing in the rafters, he’s probably drinking coffee. And seeing as he
currently resides in Seattle, there’s coffee aplenty.

remember, Vivienne finds that running away forever might not be as appealing as
it once sounded—especially

Queen of legend—and
that she and the rest of the troupe are locked in an age-old rivalry between
the otherworldly Courts.
Aided by her friends Kingston—a feisty stage magician
whose magic is quickly stealing her heart—and his smart-ass assistant, Melody, Vivienne finds herself
racing against the clock to discover the culprit behind a series of deaths that
should be impossible. However, the answer she seeks might reveal more about her
own bloody past—and
future—than she
bargained for.
