This week we get to hear from Vivienne:

Greetings mortals!

I hope you have all finished celebrating your inaptly-named 'New Year.' Some day your celebrations will follow the seasons, as they should, rather than an outdated method of time-keeping. But no matter! This week, I decided to extend a hand to Vivienne Warfield and invite her to share why she joined Mab's circus. I was as curious as you, I assure you; after all, she had such a fine taste in music and a decidedly-promising future. Why would she choose to throw that all away and cast herself with Mab's treacherous lot? Her answers were confrontational at best. I hope you this will help sway you vote for Summer—clearly, there is something darker in the works under that big top. Something no one is willing to talk about.

Dear Oberon--

Wow, how nice of you to ask me to share my story. Here, I thought you were just another jerk faerie who felt entirely justified taking people's things without asking. You want me to answer your questionnaire? Sure. Here you go.

I don't know why I joined Cirque des Immortels. I mean, I guess everyone wants to run away and join the circus at some point in their lives. I must have just been in the place where it seemed like a better idea than staying at home. And yeah, it's a lot of work. And yes, as you said, Mab is a bit...eccentric. But the people here are nice for the most part. Yeah, I've got friends—thanks for assuming I didn't. No, I don't know why they joined either and no, we don't ever talk about things like 'the future' or 'contract duration.' Apparently Mab doesn't like it when we discuss things like that. So we don't.

Why would you ask me if I feel safe? Is that a threat? Yeah, it bothers me that Mab's not doing anything about the murders but I'm not exactly about to confront her about them, am I? Why, do you know something about them? (Oberon's note: No, I do not. That is why I inquired.)

Also, it's kind of touching that you had a portrait done of me, but I resent the fact that the best you could do was me holding cotton candy. I don't care if that's my sole purpose in the circus right now. It's not exactly how I want to be portrayed to the public. And no, I don't know why Mab hired me to do that job and nothing else. Yes, it makes me angry. But that's just how things are, okay?

And just in case I didn't mention it already, thanks for stealing my mp3 player and replacing everything with Enya.I'll make sure to thank you personally for it should we ever meet.
                              With my fist.
                                  Best,
                               Vivienne

About the Book
Publisher: 47 North
Publication Date: December 4, 2012
Format: Kindle eBook

Murdered contortionists aren't exactly what Vivienne signed up for when she ran away to join the circus. But like most things under the big top, nothing is what it seems. With a past she can't quite remember, Vivienne finds that running away forever might not be as appealing as it once sounded - especially not when she realizes the devilishly attractive ringleader Mab is the Faerie Queen of legend...and that she and the rest of the troupe are locked in an age-old rivalry between the otherworldly courts.

Aided by her friends Kingston - a feisty stage magician whose magic is quickly stealing her heart - and his smart-ass assistant Melody, Vivienne finds herself racing against the clock to discover the culprit behind a series of deaths that should be impossible. However, the answer she seeks might reveal more about her own bloody past - and future - than she bargains for.

The show's just beginning.
